What is a Telco?

This abbreviation applies to the Telecommunications providers who supply the infrastructure and services necessary to perform landline telephony operations. New Zealand is served by 2 providers Telecom and Telstra.

Telecom was previously Government owned and operated and they own the majority of the infrastructure in NZ. Telstra entered the market in 1996 and provide competitive telephony services but have an agreement with Telstra to use their infrastructure.

Dual River work with both Telecom and Telstra however, Telstra is our preferred partner.
